Guide

For my movie reviews, I will be reviewing and ranking each movie based on a variety of factors. I have five categories here, and each will be given a number on a scale from one to ten to help calculate the overall score out of ten the movie receives. From there, that number will decide the ranking as a whole. Below, you can find the categories and explanations of what they contain:

Story

The story category surrounds everything related to the plot of the movie. This includes pacing, writing, and the execution of both. A story can have a good idea behind it, but if it is not executed well, then it won’t score highly in this classification.

Characters

The characters category contains my thoughts on the characters in the movie. Whether they be protagonists, side characters, villains, or somewhere in between, I’ll be discussing them here. One great character does not a strong movie cast make, so a film will need to have many strong characters in order to receive a high ranking here.

World Building

The world a story takes place in is just as important as the plot or characters. The world should feel immersive and fleshed out in a way that fits the scope of the story. Any unanswered questions about the universe will take points away in this category.

Themes

Most Barbie movies contain a theme summary at the end of the credits, and that usually sums up what the movie was trying to convey. For the movies that have a theme summary, I will analyze it through that lens. For the other movies that do not have it, I will find a theme on my own and decide how well it fits the plot.

Production

This category contains everything else that I think should be mentioned about a movie. This could include animation, voice acting, and other miscellaneous developmental details. Any loose thoughts will be brought under this classification.

Overall

After giving a movie a number in each of these five categories, I will rank it on a score from one to ten with ten being the best and one being the worst. As a final conclusion to the reviews, I will include a silly superlative for each movie.

With all of that said, let’s get the reviewing started.
